Abstract : This study investigates photo-catalytic anaerobic digestion integration for enhanced high-strength wastewater valorisation and biogas yield improvement. The integrated system combines photocatalytic oxidation with anaerobic digestion to achieve superior organic degradation and methane production. Results demonstrate that incorporating magnetized photocatalysts (Fe-TiO₂) significantly enhances COD removal (>80%), biogas production (5150 mL), and methane content (90% CH₄). The system achieves 51.5% improvement in biogas yield compared to conventional anaerobic digestion alone. Energy analysis reveals the bioenergy produced compensates for UV-light energy requirements, yielding a cost-profit margin of $2.78. This sustainable technology offers eco-friendly, cost-effective wastewater treatment with renewable energy recovery.
